Cape Coral enjoys one of the most enviable climates in the United States. With an average of 355 sunny days per year, the question is rarely whether the sun will shine. It is more a matter of how hot and how humid it will be when it does.
November to April: Peak Season
This is when Cape Coral is at its absolute best. Daytime temperatures sit comfortably between 70 and 82 degrees Fahrenheit, evenings are pleasantly cool, and rainfall is minimal. The skies are reliably blue, the humidity is manageable, and the whole city feels alive with visitors and locals alike making the most of the weather.
If you are visiting for the first time, this is the window we recommend. Snowbirds from Canada and the northern US have been making this pilgrimage for decades, and for good reason.
May to October: Summer Heat
Summer in Cape Coral is warm, lush, and full of energy. Temperatures regularly climb into the low to mid 90s Fahrenheit, and the humidity is real. But do not let that put you off. Mornings are often beautiful, afternoons bring dramatic thunderstorms that roll through quickly and leave the air feeling fresher, and your private pool becomes the center of your world in the best possible way.
Summer also comes with a practical upside: lower rates, fewer crowds, and a more local pace of life. Many guests who visit in summer become converts and come back every year.
Hurricane season runs from June through November, peaking in September. Serious storms affecting Cape Coral are relatively rare, but it is always wise to monitor forecasts and consider travel insurance if you are visiting during these months.
Water Temperature
The Gulf of Mexico stays wonderfully warm throughout most of the year. From May through October, water temperatures hover between 84 and 88 degrees Fahrenheit. Even in winter, the Gulf rarely drops below 65 degrees, making it comfortable for swimming on most days.
What to Pack
Light, breathable clothing works year-round. In winter months, bring a light jacket or layer for evenings. Sunscreen is non-negotiable at any time of year. And if you are visiting in summer, a good pair of water shoes and a hat will quickly become your best friends.
